Knowing

Updated: Mar 22, 2022

Knowing is understanding without concepts.

Knowing is free from knowledge. IT embraces knowledge but also transcends it.

Zhuangzi said, "it is common to see flying with wings, it is uncommon to see flying without wings; it is commonly heard that people know with knowledge, it is uncommon that people know without knowledge."

Knowing is free from choices. Knowing is free from dilemma.

Knowing is primordial understanding prior to verbal dialogue and the choice of going with one possible kind of interpretation among others.

It is understanding Reality as it is, no more, no less.

I realize that normally, in understanding there is the built-in movement of "projection." People react to what they think Reality (or what's Here and Now) means. And in that very interpretation, there's already a plan for action (or actually, reaction), most likely conditioned by the past. Since in unconscious understanding, the meaning already projected its past conditioned reaction into the future, and is going to live it out, karma repeats itself.

In knowing, Reality is understood as it is, and seen as it is- free and clear, no added stories, narratives, complications, ideas about self: what I should, could, would, like to do or not do. Work becomes work, not stress. Life becomes life, not suffering. Love becomes love, not entanglement.
